Do you own a pocket chain saw yet? If not, you might want to consider the Chainmate CM-24SSP 24-Inch Survival Pocket Chain Saw With Pouch. It’s a great tool for your emergency kit: small, compact, highly useful, and unlike many tools on the market now, it is Made in America. Yep, made right here in the USA. We’ve never felled a tree before,
Since this is my inaugural post, you don’t know much about Derrick and me yet. Suffice to say, we’re soft-handed city folk. We know nothing of handling even the simplest tools – Derrick only recently even started a chain saw.
So when I saw the Chainmate CM-24SSP 24-Inch Survival Pocket Chain Saw With Pouch on Amazon I was intrigued – so many people said it was totally easy to use and a heckofa investment. In the event of an emergency, you may need to cut some wood for a fire (especially if you are on the run from Zombies). If you camp or are an RVer and like a nice camp fire, get this.
Since it’s winter currently, and we don’t plan on camping right now, I wanted to try it out getting our own Christmas tree. Where we live, live trees abound, and for $5, you can get a permit to chop one down. So last Saturday, we took our soft-and-pampered-collegiate-hands out into the wilderness.
(I’m new at this blogging stuff, so I didn’t take pictures of us using the saw! D’oh! Will do better next time!)
It was totally easy to use. Derrick took one side, I took the other. It’s about 2 feet long. You have to make sure the little teeth are facing the wood you want to cut. Derrick pulled the pocket chain saw towards him, I pulled towards me. In about 10 pulls, we had a felled tree.
Wow. We had no idea we were this outdoorsy and strong.
Five bucks, baby! C’mon!
