When a disaster strikes, one of the first things you’ll need is light. It gets pretty dark out there, and the WakaWaka Solar Lamp will provide light for your family’s night. Like most PrepHappy product recommendations, this also serves double-duty for camping and backpacking, or as an off-the-grid nightime reading light. Hey, the sun’s free and so you might as well take advantage of it.
Just set the light in the sun during the day, and at night, bam! Lots of light.
There’s a bunch of settings that make it really useful. One of them is an SOS pattern. We immediately thought of David Lavau from California whose car fell off an embankment in California. His beloved family searched for six days to find him. Had Mr. Lavau had one of these ingenious devices, he might have been found sooner.
Think about it: if you’re injured, it would be really hard to press a button in an SOS pattern. This will do it for you. Nice.
Our tip is if you aren’t going to use it nightly like we do (we use it on the lowest setting for reading night-time stories), keep it in the car. Or if you have the means, get at least one for the house and one for each car that carries someone you love.
Check out the great reviews of the awesome WakaWaka Solar Lamp on Amazon. As of this writing, there’s 50 of them and it has a 5 star rating. And at around $40, this is a no-brainer. Amazon has two colors currently: gray and yellow. Get the yellow, it’s easier to see if you drop it in the forest or the back of your car.
